I'm playing at 1080p with DLSS Quality and getting anywhere from locked 60FPS for minutes at a time, to sometimes down to single digits. Right now I'm playing on my laptop because it's easier connect it to my TV so I can play on the couch. Seems like if it would hold at 99-100% utilization I could easily keep a steady 60fps. This while gpu utilization is maxing out at like 77%, sometimes as low as 50%. I set a max of 60FPS in Nvidia control panel, and it cant hold it. Weirdest thing I've noticed is that I'm getting low GPU utilization. I'll have to give this a try when I get home. These behaviours happen on all systems just some people are not very sensitive to stutters whilst others like me are, every video I have seen which shows a frame time graph shows these micro stutters, only way to fix these issues are through brute forcing with higher end CPU's and having a GPU with higher amounts of VRAM and using technologies like DLSS 3.0 to relieve the CPU bottleneck. Turning down to medium Textures and view distance stops any VRAM issues and capping the fps to 40 for my Ryzen 3700x produces a near flatline frame time graph although Hogsmede and certain doors still exhibit some small frame time spikes. VRAM over spilling when using high textures/high view distance+ settings still occur on my rtx 3070 after around 20 mins to and hour causing big dips this is using all the supposed "engine fixes" and special placebo "fixes" I keep seeing posted everywhere tested at both 1440p and 4k. loading certain doors in the castle/ Hogsmede. CPU limited area's perform identically with micro frame time spikes e.g.
